KUWAIT CITY, Nov 30: General Public Relations and Security Media Department at the Ministry of Interior stated that officers from the Residency Affairs Department arrested a gang of Bangladeshi expatriates specialized in stealing power cables belonging to the Ministry of Electricity and Water. Gang was arrested after receiving secret information about their involvement in stealing power cables.

After receiving hints, A team was formed which arrested the gang after thorough investigation. Over 1000 kg of copper cables along with power cables cutting tools were recovered from suspects’ possession. They admitted the crime. Initial investigation revealed that the suspects are not working for their sponsors.

They explained that they paid money to their respective sponsors to obtain visas, whereas the sponsors did not provide them any jobs. Arrested gang members have been referred to relevant authorities to investigate further and their sponsors have been called for questioning.
