I’m a mother of a 1-1/2 year old kid and I would like to bring my mother on a dependent’s visa since she’s living alone in our country and me and my husband are both working in Kuwait. My salary is KD375/- and my husband is earning KD200/- (working in Ministry of Defense). I just like to know how can I bring my mother to Kuwait to take care of my baby and if it is not possible to get a family visa, can I get her a visa 20 on our sponsorship by combining our salaries? Name withheld Answer: Dependent visas for parents are treated in a totally different way. You have to apply to the Head of the Immigration Department in your area. All such applications are treated on a case by case basis. It is totally at the discretion of the Immigration Director to accept or reject such applications. Secondly you can’t call your mother on an Article 20 visa (domestics) because according to the rules you can’t get a maid from your own country. --------------------- Arab Times
